Best of the Best

I'm finally on Twitter. Do I know what I'm doing? Not so much. But I've been researching and learning and trying not to make a fool of myself. Most of the time, I'm just reading what others are tweeting, yet to become a regular tweeter. I figure it's similar to how I started blogging, only writing a post every so often when something changed in my writing. That evolved into signing up for blogfests and bloghops, following more writers, commenting more often, and now posting more regularly. Hopefully this will happen with Twitter. Time will tell :)

Best of the Best: Twitter, twittering, tweet, tweeting, tweeter, and hopefully not twit:

What are your tips for being a successful tweeter?

Please follow me and let me know if I'm making a mockery of myself over there!

  1. I have an incessant need to tell people what I'm doing whenever I'm doing it, so I just leave Twitter open in background while I'm at work/writing and verbally spew whenever the mood strikes me. Good luck with your Twittering! I'm following you!

  7. I love Twitter. I wish it wasn't blocked at work, otherwise I'd be on it a whole lot more. Same with Facebook. I can only do so much on my phone without attracting attention.

  10. So I am on Twitter cause from all I hear it's supposed to be like, the second coming of Christ or something but to be honest I do NOT get it at all. (*gasp* blasphemy) and I've read all these articles about how great it is and how to use it and what it's for and I still don't get it. AT ALL. I've been thinking about doing a blog post about my total not-getting-of-Twitter and inviting people to please, please, please explain the point of it to me. I'm beginning to think I'll just never get it, much the same way my husband doesn't get Facebook at all. I heart facebook but mainly because it has privacy settings which Twitter does not and allows me to stay in real-time touch with far away family members.

  13. I was surprised that I liked twitter. I felt exactly like you do, but it gets better the more you use it. My twitter mentor told me to just tweet once a day - and that can even be retweets (in fact, retweets get you friends!!) I'll find you tomorrow night, and follow you. I just need to go to bed now. It's been a late last few days.
