Around the World in 26 Letters--Yellowstone

I've been there at least once as a child (don't remember) and then when my husband and I went a trip around the US in a van (I think we set a record for fastest time through Yellowstone as tourists).
My kids need to see Yellowstone. Soon they'll be old enough to explore a bit and remember going :)

Have you ever been there? What do you remember?

  3. I have been there. We tried to sleep in the back of a station wagon, which isn't advised, and got woken up in the middle of the night by a park ranger. I saw Old Faithful and some lovely paint pots and smaller geysers. I wish I had spent more time there. Now when I think of Yellowstone, I think of the super volcanoe...simmering beneath...building pressure....waiting to erupt and destroy several states. Not a very relaxing vacation spot knowing that.

  5. I've never been, but my sister is going for her honeymoon because they both love rocks and the outdoors. I'll have to go someday!

  6. I was born in Wyoming, and have lived in Wyoming most of my life. Sadly, I have never been to Yellowstone. I plan to remedy that one day, I just don't know when! Like you said above, I plan to take my kids, now that they're old enough to appreciate it. Probably not this year, though.

  9. I've been there! I think I was like... twelve or something. I remember SO many buffalo. And Elk. And the geyser Old Faithful. And all the dead trees.

    So I guess quite a bit :)
