Honestly, I've never really wanted to go to London. It seems so much the same climate as Washington, just with slightly different food and a bunch of English accents I can't understand too well, so the draw has never been there for me. My dad's side of the family has a Markham Crest from England, apparently there's some lineage reaching to a duke or something, so I guess I should want to check out a piece of my ancestry as well if I ever go. And until recently, most English actors have been mediocre to watch for two hours at best. Now that Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Daniel Craig, and James McAvoy have made it on my radar, maybe a trip across the pond would be worth the effort :)
I suppose I could ride a double-decker
over to the London Bridge,
check out the London Eye,
see Westminster Palace and Big Ben,
maybe Buckingham Palace,
and the Tower of London,
if I had to :)
Would you go? Have you been?
I grew up in England until I was eleven (and then I moved to North America). I haven't been to London in decades. Back then, it was just the place my father worked. It wasn't cool like, say, Disney World. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat place! This year is going to be busy with the Olympics. A lot of people will be visiting there, I'm sure! Again, you've marveled me with your pics! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never been but I would most definitely go.
ReplyDeleteLondon is swimming right at the top of my bucket list!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go to London and see Big Ben. Maybe find a guy with a nice British accent... I'm a sucker for accents. :)
ReplyDeleteLondon is totally where Harry Potter lives!!! You know I'm so there!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely go!! :D Someday, someday...
ReplyDeleteLondon is at the top of my list. My hubby and I (if we ever become rich and famous) would love to live in England for a year and visit all the surrounding countries. Oh, and Book 2 of TGT is set in London.
ReplyDeleteI was in London about 10 years ago. Had a lot of fun in a short amount of time. Got lost on the Tube, and almost missed a plane, but...
ReplyDeleteI would love to go again.
i'd go! I'll go anywhere :)
ReplyDeleteI have not been there, but I would like to. I'm trying to visit all the A-Z Challenge Blogs this month. My A-Zs are at myqualityday.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI've been to London- it's a fun place. One thing I didn't get to do while I was there was have high tea, so now I have a reason to go back.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to travel to London. It's on my Wish List. New follower here. I’m enjoying reading my fellow “A to Z”ers. I look forward to visiting again.

I would love to travel and see more of our own country first, and maybe venture out more someday. My genealogy takes me to England, France, Germany, Spain and one back in the 1200s to Italy. What a wonderful opportunity to find some old grave sites. I understand the Lanier castle still stands with Lanier engraved in a stone on the wall near the door. What great adventures could be written there? I'm just A to Z-ing it. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to live in London someday. My husband may have the opportunity to transfer there for work someday. I think it would be fun to live there, at least for a couple of years. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd totally go!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI grew up in London until I was ten. This post makes me nostalgic!
ReplyDeleteI spent 4 days in London. I'd definitely go back, though I wouldn't stay at that B&B again.
